Lake Mascoma Regatta 2013

by laserd7

Thanks to Sally Sharp for the following report on the Lake Mascoma Regatta on June 2.

Despite some very unstable weather for the Mascoma regatta, the threatening thunder and lightning stayed north of us so we got in six races in a very shifty moderate breeze before a monster squall came roaring over the hills & sent us all fleeing for cover. Everyone made it in safely, and when scores were tallied the top three sailors finished within three points of each other: Dave Frazier won the day, with Nat Cook two points back, and Erik McCaffrey just one point behind Nat. In a tie for fourth, Mike McCaffrey and Hank Thorburn received the first and second masters awards; Eric Richardson was third master, and Bill Fontaine was first radial.

Here are “before and after the squall” pictures – taken about 10 minutes apart!
